Alex Fleming started boxing in 2008, spent a lot of time in the ring, and somewhere along the way realized the thing he loved most wasn’t fighting, but teaching.
In 2012, he began coaching with Boxing Ontario and the NCCP and has not slowed down since. Today, he is a Registered Level 2 Boxing Coach at REVMMA and one of the most respected boxing coaches in Toronto. He is a man who truly knows the sport and enjoys watching people learn it for themselves.
No matter if you’re training to get into the best shape of your life or preparing for your next fight, Alex’s lived in both worlds. And he knows exactly how to train for each one.
Alex’s classes are open to everyone: from those who have trained before to those who have never put on a pair of boxing gloves. That’s because Alex treats safety not as a formality, but as the foundation of everything he teaches. The pace of each class is adjusted to the people in the room, so no one feels left behind or pushed too far, too fast. After taking even one boxing class in Toronto with Alex, you’ll quickly realize that:
Whether you come here to stay active, boost your confidence, or just try something new, Alex creates a space where you feel comfortable from day one. Everything you need to become the best version of yourself.

Alex has a simple rule: learn it all right from the start. His whole coaching philosophy is based on textbook boxing fundamentals. Once those are covered, everything else comes naturally. He tries to build a strong enough base so that, over time, athletes can find their own style instead of just copying their heroes.
This mindset applies whether you’re training for fitness or stepping into the ring. Alex approaches both with the same way: come prepared, stay focused, and leave knowing that you’ve done some real work.
As he likes to say, “The fundamentals aren’t a starting point. They’re the whole game. Master them, and your style takes care of itself.”
