Teen students join our boxing programs every single day for a variety of reasons but many are interested in getting fit in a way that is exciting and fun rather than boring and monotonous. Others come for self-defense and up-staying for friendships and camaraderie. Our trainers have extensive experience that they can share with teens to help them improve their skills.
With over 30 years experience in Jiu Jitsu and Judo and a pioneer in the Canadian grappling community, the Rev MMA Toronto programs are overseen by World Master's Medalist, MMA veteran and multiple time Canadian Jiu Jitsu Champion, BJJ (IBJJF) and Judo (IJF) Black Belt, Joel Gerson.
Although some parents may feel a bit of concern about their teens’ interest in boxing, the truth is that our classes teach respect for others and discipline while learning the art in a safe manner. It isn’t just about teaching students how to fight; it’s about teaching them how to protect themselves and how to coordinate their actions. What’s more, boxing is a very physically demanding activity, and it requires discipline and training in order to succeed. Teens who participate in boxing and other similar sports can improve their fitness, body image, and self-esteem, all while learning new skills and building confidence in themselves.
“I have been training at Rev for over a decade and can confidently say that the gym is a place where learning and growth is embraced. With a team of coaches who are dedicated to a positive and fun environment where everyone feels welcome, the drive for success can be felt all throughout the gym. My overall confidence has improved dramatically as a result of the time I have spent at Rev”
“At Rev MMA the incredible coaches and the program design have given me great confidence and helped to shape me into the young person I am today. Everyone experiences stress, I’m no exception, but I know that when I walk into an MMA class, I am going to loose that tension and leave with a better mind set!”
Boxing programs for teens provide an excellent outlet to burn off some excess energy, learn important life skills, get fit, and even build lifelong friendships with people who share the same interests. At REV MMA we welcome anyone, regardless of their level of skill or fitness. There’s never been a better time to get involved and take an active role in your health.
The exact opposite is true. Our students learn that everything they are taught is for self-defense in case of emergency only, and that “with great power comes great responsibility”. Parents of students in our junior program find our classes to be a “personality balancer”. If a child is naturally aggressive he or she becomes less so, and if they are shy and introverted, they learn to speak up for themselves and they come out of their shell easier.
The most important factor for martial arts for your child is the right SCHOOL and INSTRUCTOR, who has the right experience working with children, and whose systems and methodologies suit your needs and fit your goals. That said, we do age appropriate and traditional Mixed Martial Arts with belt promotions till black belt, and the curriculum is comprised of the most relevant techniques from several martial arts but focuses primarily on the safest and effective martial art for children: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Statistically speaking, martial arts training is safer than soccer, baseball, and more popular sports. Every sport has the potential for injury. This is why we are EXTRA careful when we run our classes, and only use expertly trained ADULT instructors, have matted floors and walls and are hyper vigilant during training.
Most children are put into team sports and forced to train at the pace of a group. While there are benefits to this, we treat children as individuals and let them progress at their own pace, so they only compete with themselves. Nobody sits out in our classes or are picked last for anything, and nobody’s confidence is damaged just because they are too big or too small, etc.
We have a ton of experience teaching children with a variety of mental, emotional and physical conditions who enjoy and do well in our program. Consult with your child’s doctor or therapist to confirm there is no conflict, and if they give you the green light, your child will probably surprise you.
Though your child will learn the importance of commitment and dedication as major factors in accomplishing their goals, we completely empathize with you, the father or mother, being unsure when starting out. This is why we offer money back guarantees which can be laid out in your initial consultation with a Program Manager.
At Revolution we offer a number of different tuition packages to fit most family budgets, because though we know your child’s confidence, safety and life skills are of primary concern, often-times money is an issue. To get more information about our program packages simply call the number below:
